There is a path from me to you that
I am constantly looking for.

This is a big truth. In one case an old couple looking for divorce were unable to write down the points that they absolutely hated about each other.
But there is another side of this element in our characters. It is the basis on which we create the foundation of our "Virtuousness". By this we create a screen of not needing/wanting/allowing others to approach us until implored and then they do relent, it is as a "virtuous" gesture.
This tends to make life very difficult for others. Their kindness is a screen and their politeness makes it difficult to make real friends.

On suffering:
The piece of iron being made into a horse shoe - just imagine what it has to bear. But to become into something useful and then later serve its purpose, it has no other way. Later it becomes the lucky charm of houses and a highly desired commodity.

Try to be at peace with yourself and the world around you. If you go looking, there is no dearth of faults.
It is so easy to blame. The self-validation process at work. Then words are words - they are independent and need not be connected to the actuality. All that is needed is a whiff of something and a full blown scandal/picture profile can be expanded on it.

Desires not only fade out but slowly when the mind is quiet, new connections are made with the intuitive world/plane. This is a life changer stage.
My experience is:  No amount of mental conceptualisation can clean the patterns embedded in the subconscious. Desires cannot be abolished by force. The abolition/erasing process happens by first focusing on one subject line in your life and keeping the button pressed. Then additionally by a focused change in attitude - All this based on your experience of life.
So the way is in first getting into different experiences and learn as much as you can. Don’t be afraid to get into the thick of things and make it a different activity every time. Let your heart take you where it will. Don’t be too rational. Slowly you will realise a kind of equanimity and then will come disinterest and then will follow withdrawal. Desires will dissolve when they realise that you are not supporting them.

The symbol is a Swastik which has been used since the Vedic times as a sign of the meeting of two consciousness levels. If you are so against this symbol, I would advise you to avoid coming to India for it is one of the most auspicious symbol here and seen just about everywhere.
Just because some idiots used for their nefarious purpose does not despoil it. It also show the narrowness with which you are looking at things

Yesterday got into a discussion with a friend parent on the affair of spoiling kids at home and putting them in residential schools and spoiling them there. I feel that children need parents till the age of 13-14 but after that the influence of other souls should come in and is imperative for their flowering into full personhood.
The age of 18 is too late. By then egos form and attitudes harden. 12-14 is the latest. In old Indian tradition, the kids were sent to a teacher at an ashram around the age of 8 and this I feel is the right time because the mind starts forming then. Good parents can give EQ but a good teacher alone can help develop the IQ
I went out before I was eight. This also helped in breaking the samskar(continuing habits/thought patterns) of my family/immediate society. It did help me reach further than anyone in my family in education and reach in life. This put me at logger-heads with all as I wanted to surpass and they wanted only security and more and more income.

new windpower concept.

What a thrilling concept. Wonderful technology
Noise from wind turbine blades, inadvertent bat and bird kills and even the way wind turbines look have made installing them anything but a breeze. New York design firm Atelier DNA has an alternative concept that ditches blades in favor of stalks. Resembling thin cattails, the Windstalks generate electricity when the wind sets them waving. The designers came up with the idea for the planned city Masdar, a 2.3-square-mile, automobile-free area being built outside of Abu Dhabi. Atelier DNA’s "Windstalk"project came in second in the Land Art Generator competition a contest sponsored by Madsar to identify the best work of art that generates renewable energy from a pool of international submissions.

Saunday musings

On human intteligence
Humans have acquired manipulative mental attributes. They are now on an evolutive path and will eventually cross over to a more wise and intuitive mind. In the meanwhile they will destroy everything in their path due to their cleverness.
In the present state humans are open to many elements that blow through them. It is virtually a public place at the cross roads. We are affected by things like weather, food, colors, personal relations & considerations and thoughts and other subtle influences.
"Just being you" is therefore not simple as it requires a great and sustained effort to individualise oneself around a stable core before we can even say ME, I.

Surviving professionally in the ever Changing World

Surviving professionally in the ever Changing World

We are a product. Our families, society, religious beliefs and practices and finally our professional education and formations have formed our character. We are a complex mixture of many personas, all interconnected often complimentary to each other but often contradictory too.  Not surprising because this world is a mix of many extremes and different exigencies require different approaches; the successful professional knows how to play and bring into play the correct mix of his persona at any given time, keeping in mind that our personalities are complex and contain many contradictions. All of us present a different "face" depending on who we meet.

Requirements to keep abreast of the times:

One of the most obvious characteristics is youthfulness. Do not allow yourself to grow old, you just keep moving. Do not get too comfortable with success and successful practices. What works one day may not do so some time later. Curiosity and openness to new ideas should characterize you, though you may sometimes fail to capitalize on what you discover. Being nervous and restless is not seen as good traits but these do help you and act as a goad to constantly exercise your mind in some way. Your nervous energy and driving curiosity will lead you to develop along several lines, making you a multifaceted, interesting, and consequently popular, person.
You should consciously work on yourself through feedback to project yourself as believable and understandable to others, not intimidating or incredible.

Although philosophy is normally coupled with religion, it is not so.
Developing an interest in the deeper side of life has long term happy consequences. You may be religious or you may approach spirituality in a more personal way. Mediation and other consciousness raising techniques may appeal to you. Philosophy may also be of great interest and you may use this knowledge to put your life experiences into perspective. Your attitude should be of wanting to know what is really going on in this life and actively seek answers to these kinds of questions.

The world runs on the formula of “Each other”. You help me and I help- you and they help us. So your attitude to others will determine the quality of your life now and in later years when you will have to move on to a different plane of existence while younger people, more in tune with the day to day street-rules in force become active in the immediate field of action.
So keep an eye on yourself. Develop and project a persona that is definitely not mercurial, but reliable and dependable. Add to this a compassionate persona with a deep concern for the welfare of others. Be very nurturing in times of crisis.

It is not short terms gains but long term vision that you will need so that all the effort put in to establish yourself, keeps on paying you for the rest of your life.

Messages form my Facebook page

I find this even in our land of Yoga and so called spirituality, that we pay lip service to a lot of words, often confusedly with great sounding expressions. The need is to first look at our own five fingers - what is going on within us at the level that we are. Things like prejudices, anger triggers, hidden desires etc - that is, if we are sincere. If these first steps are not being taken, the rest is all a sham; being put up for the neighbors or create an organisation to collect adherents and make money.
Zookeepers at Pocatello Zoo, Idaho, were worried when they noticed Shooter, a four-year-old elk, acting strangely at his water trough.Baffled, they watched as the animal – which is so massive some keepers are afraid to even enter his enclosure – tried to dip his hooves into his drinking trough, before attempting to dunk his whole head in the water. But they were amazed as 10ft tall Shooter lifted his head from the trough clutching a tiny marmot – a kind of large squirrel – between his jaws.

Precarious, life may be, but are we ready for anything else? Is there anything else?
I feel likfe has always been fine. It is we who want to rub it the wrong way. When we are scratched, we howl in disdain.
Something like " Train ran over car at crossing" - how could the train be responsible? It runs on preordained tracks. It is the rest of the world that throws itself in its path!!!
Living on the edge.
Life on Display. Showcasing the creative, eco-conscious, botanic, organic and artistic works within the global green community.
Why are we so easily swayed to accept the “bad” & and the “unacceptable” even by our own standards? And convince ourselves that all is alright!
The philosophies we profess never become part of our active life and do not even scratch the surfaces of our real natures. Are we hard skinned or so insincere in our basic core that nothing can touch us our souls?

  • some thoughts in passing

Finally, all said and done it is your call and destiny. The most natural thing to you is what you will do and the most natural thing to the other person is what he will do. Both will learn & grow in everyway from the episodes that are cooked up. We are all interconnected and are supposed to be holding hands when we collaborate.
Never be in a hurry; do everything quietly and in a calm spirit. Do not lose you...r inner peace for anything whatsoever, even if your whole world seems upset. --Saint Francis de Sales

From the point-of-view of an anthropologist, when historians in the future will be speaking about the “AGE” we are passing thru, how do you think we shall be seen & remembered? As a social people what we have achieved as our most important facet? Let us see, is it our constant connectivity with each other, our spiritual search or stress & depression?

I ask it as question. Don’t you feel we spend a lot of time yearning and yearning? The list of must haves is unending. Something or the other is added to it everyday. Therefore we can safely conclude that it is a state of mind. Happiness is more a state of mind. We simply have forgotten to revel in what we have. It is so simple really. Finally all we need is a good pillow and a dog. And when the both can be combined, it is as near to heaven as we shall ever get in this life!
In all this state of discontent, if we look into ourselves sincerely in our quiet moments and make a list, we shall discover that we have more to be happy and pleased about than the other way round.
In the heart of hearts everybody is fully aware of his/her errors and shortcomings. To hidethem, it is our first priority even though quite often we know that lip-service is all we are getting and nobody is fooled. But we all continue with the charade. After all being clever is more important than being accurate, sincere and honest.
To me nothing in the world is as precious as
a genuine smile, especially from a child.
